The free standing LA Chock is great for the garage or in the bed of a pickup.  Just drive onto the chock and the mechanism clamps against the tire and you just step off  your bike.  No kick stand required. There is an adjustment mechanism to adjust the tightness of the jaws against the tires depending on the size tire of your bike. This makes it extremely easy for one person to tie down a bike. Another feature is that it takes much less storage space  in the garage since the bike is not leaning over.  I've got two in my garage (my bike and my wife's bike)  and I absolutely love them.
